The Revolutionary League are a faction who believe that all the other factions just care about holding on to what they have. No one cares about the truth. They want to free everyone from the factions' chains, destroying the factions stopping everyone from finding out the real truth of the multiverse, and then rebuilding with what's left.
History[]
- 574 BFHR: The time of Fraternity of Order Factol Jaretta. "Anarchists" are mentioned in Guvner records during this time, who may or may not be the same group as the eventual Revolutionary League.[1]
- 174 BFHR: An Anarchist kills the factol of the Mercykillers via a spell, then managed to pin the blame on the Fated. The following war involved almost a dozen factions and results in the destruction of three of them.[1]
- 70 YFHR: The Anarchist Rechvad develops a magical process to change one's personality, to aid in infiltration. Unfortunately duration cannot be predicted, so Rechvad is shunned for his failure.[2]
- 77 YFHR: Omar becomes factol of the Harmonium... and immediately tries to disband the faction and shut down the City Barracks. Omar is revealed to be an Anarchist. The Harmonium later insists they simply let him think he was in charge so he'd reveal himself. The Mercykillers execute him after a brief trial, and he becomes a hero and martyr for the Anarchists.[1]
- 124 YFHR: Kiim Madbone is framed by the Revolutionary League for the death of two Mercykiller factors.[3]
Philosophy[]
Role[]
The Anarchists have no role in the city, unless it's part of an undercover identity. At best, one might say that their role is to ensure that none of the factions become too powerful; any faction who had noticeably increased in power would also find itself the target of far more Anarchist plots to bring it down.
The Revolutionary League has toppled factions before and they can do it again.
Membership[]
Namers are members of cells, typically led by a factotum, and don't know any Anarchists outside their own cell.
Benefits: Any Anarchist can pose as a member of any other faction without being detected, although they do not receive those faction's special abilities.
Higher-ranked factotums, those deemed most trustworthy, are in cells led by factors. Those factotums in term lead their own cells full of other factotums and namers.
Benefits: Any factotum may learn rogue nonweapon proficiencies at normal cost. Rogues gain a +2 bonus to their scores.

Background Information[]
- The Anarchists are not to be confused with the Anarch's Guild, a sect on Limbo.
- Although the faction poster from the Planescape: Planescape Campaign Setting contained four symbols, in a practical sense, nearly every appearance of an Anarchist symbol is the 1st or 4th variant, and the 2nd and 3rd almost never appear. Those used symbols are frequently turned upside-down to give the appearance of more symbols.
- It's not known why the League has four symbols. Perhaps they're fractious enough that they couldn't decide on one, or perhaps they represent different cells, or even their ability to change who they appear to be when necessary.
