- The Faction War. Factol Rowan Darkwood enacts an elaborate plan to take over Sigil, deposing the Lady of Pain. The plan involves all-out war between the various factions. Darkwood's plan ultimately fails, but the Lady pronounces: This city tolerates your faction no longer. Abandon it or die. Unsure if by "it" she means "your faction" or "the city," various factions either splinter, merge, or leave Sigil entirely.[2]
